When you feel tired and exhausted in doing good deeds or acts of righteousness, then comfort yourself and calm your heart, for surely goodness will stay with you while weariness will fade away. It is natural to feel tired at times, but it is crucial to remember the significance and rewards of the good deeds you are engaging in.
On the contrary, when the whispers of Satan attack you and you feel satisfied and indulgent in the swamp of sins and transgressions, know that the pleasure will eventually leave you while the sins will remain with you, and Satan will be delighted for successfully deceiving you.
This is the guiding light for the heart of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to remain steadfast on the path of Allah, even in times of weariness and fatigue.
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
'Paradise is surrounded by things that are disliked (by the self), and Hellfire is surrounded by desires that are pleasing (to the self).' (Muslim 2822)
Remember that the weariness you experience is temporary, while the lasting impact of your good deeds will endure. Remember that the weariness you experience is temporary, while the lasting impact of your good deeds will endure. O Allah, strengthen us in Your religion and do not cause us to die except in a state of faith and submission (to You). Amen.
