Once upon a time in a modern Arab land, there lived a mother with her 13-year-old son. The mother had a unique condition - she was blind, but not like most blind people. Her eye sockets were concave, giving her a somewhat eerie appearance.
Every day, the devoted mother would accompany her son to school, holding his hand as she walked. After dropping him off, she would return home, navigating the path with her trusty cane. Despite her condition, the mother remained patient and selfless, giving her all to her son, for besides Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, no one loves us more than a mother.
However, something troubled the son's heart. He felt ashamed of his mother's blindness, and his schoolmates would mock him for it. One day, he asked his mother not to accompany him to school anymore, embarrassed by her perceived frightening appearance.
Though hurt, the mother remained patient and refused to take offense. She chose to remain silent and acquiesce to her son's wishes, so he wouldn't be ridiculed further for her condition. She suppressed her feelings for the sake of her son's well-being.
As time passed, the son grew up, graduated from college, and secured a good job, achieving financial stability. However, he kept his mother's blindness a secret and refused to acknowledge her existence.
One day, he got married, deliberately excluding his mother from the wedding festivities, claiming his parents had already passed away. He couldn't bear to face the reality of his blind mother's presence.
After his marriage, the son had two children, and occasionally, he would visit his mother in secret, without his wife or kids knowing. Eventually, he received a promotion at work that required him to relocate abroad to an Arab country, and he moved there with his family.
Meanwhile, his blind mother remained in her homeland, yearning for her son's return. With the help of her neighbors, she tried to find information about her son's whereabouts.

Finally, after years of saving up, she managed to purchase a plane ticket, determined to meet her son. Upon arriving at her son's doorstep in a foreign land, the mother's heart pounded with anticipation. Unfortunately, when her son realized who stood at the door, he quickly closed it. He was still too embarrassed to acknowledge his mother in front of his wife and children. The son arranged for his mother to be sent back to her homeland on a plane. Heartbroken, she returned, feeling rejected by the son she longed to see.
Later, her son received a letter from a neighbor in their homeland, informing him that his mother had passed away.
In her final letter, the blind mother revealed a shocking truth to her son. She was not born blind; in fact, she willingly sacrificed her eyesight for him, out of her immense love and compassion. The son broke down in tears, realizing the magnitude of his mother's love and patience throughout her life.
Regrettably, it was too late for him to apologize and express his gratitude to his mother. All he could do was pray and hope for Allah's forgiveness for his past behavior.

This story serves as a reminder of the importance of cherishing and loving our parents, especially our mothers, who selflessly give their all. We should be grateful and thankful for their love and sacrifices throughout our lives, even if we sometimes get caught up in our own concerns or feel embarrassed by their shortcomings.
