One day, she appeared on the TV show "The Late Late Show" in Ireland to share her journey of choosing Islam as her religion. Wearing a hijab and a gown, Sinead touched on the word "return," implying that she felt like a lifelong Muslim without realizing it.
Initially, Sinead never thought about converting to another religion. She simply wanted to discover the truth about God, which led her to explore various religions and sacred texts. However, after reading two chapters (juz) from the Quran, her heart was moved, and she felt like she had come home to God. She realized that she had been a Muslim all along, but she hadn't recognized it.

In 2018, Sinead announced proudly via Twitter that she had converted to Islam. She believed it was a natural conclusion in her journey as a thoughtful theologian, as she thought all sacred texts pointed to Islam.
After becoming a Muslim, Sinead decided to sell her pre-Islamic clothes and donated the proceeds to an organization called Bray Women's Refuge, which provides care and shelter to women and children in need.

After embracing Islam, Sinead O'Connor changed her name to Shuhada Sadaqat. But now, sad news arrived - Sinead passed away at the age of 56. Her family and friends felt the loss deeply, mourning the departure of someone they cherished.
Before her passing, Sinead also struggled with mental health issues, particularly agoraphobia, which made her fearful of being in places without access to help. She was always open about this matter on social media and during interviews.
